About me

I work as a freelance writer, editor and communications consultant.

As a fiction writer, I’ve had work shortlisted for the Berlin Writing Prize, and published in The White Review and Klang Journal. As a literary translator, I’ve published a translation in Asymptote Magazine and written a sample translation for Penguin Random House. I’ve published reviews of books and theatre in World Literature Today, The Oxonian Review, and Fukuoka Now, and travel writing in Condé Nast Traveler. I’m currently working on a novel and a short story collection.

My work as a scriptwriter on documentary projects includes researching and writing films for Discovery, National Geographic, DirectTV and History Channel. I have also ghost-written a self-help book about Japanese culture sold to Hachette (UK) and Harper Collins (US) featured in The Independent, ABC Spain, and Yamato Magazine, and translated into nine languages.

As a copyeditor and proofreader, I work with companies and academic institutions on book-length reports, advertising copy, and pitch materials. I’ve worked with universities, science organisations, and artists in the UK as well as in Germany and Japan.

As a communications consultant, I’ve worked as a freelancer for science organisations and non-profits, media and technology companies as well as film producers to boost the appeal of projects, products and websites to global audiences.
